 So ... hello there.

I made this for Santasims,  and now that it's posted I can share it here. :)


First up I have a new custom pet marking.   EA’s heart is cute, but too cartoon-y for most pets.  So I made a new heart that looks a little more natural.

And then of course I had to make a calico!  Meet Winter Stockings, a noisy, friendly, hunter cat.

Happy Belated Halloween

I had a lot going on this Halloween.  I know that's a surprise, because I clearly don't like it at all.  :D

One of the things I worked on was Simblreen - a gift giving event on Tumblr.  It was a lot of fun, and for once the fast pace of Tumblr was a benefit.

Here are the gifts I gave out.  I'm still working on posting pictures of as many of the gifts I received as possible.   It's always such a thrill to see something I worked on in someone else's game, I want everyone to get a chance to feel that.

One of my other favorite games is Dear Esther, and when I found the hidden wishing pool it made me want a terrain paint with coins.  If you look closely you can see these are all coins from TS3. :)
This is an edited Ambitions terrain paint. I’m sorry, I didn’t realize it until I loaded my game up. :(   I don’t know if you need the expansion or not.
I decided not to make a whole new background, because this way you can just paint on a dollop of coins where needed and it will blend seamlessly.

She has a small nose, is wearing hat, is an alien lady and is a berry sweet sim.

Xocoatl was a chocolate drink, and I'm a fan of chocolate.

What more could you ask for?  Well, maybe me remembering her traits?  She's Family Oriented, Good Sense of Humor...and the rest of her traits are generally sweet and endearing.    Of course.   Look at that face, what else could she be?

back from vacation

We adventured! To Canada!  :)

Back home to our cat, and a lot of catching up to do.  Though I was able to snatch intermittent internet up there.

My PC broke itself while we were away.  Though I am avoiding delving in, taking a cue from Schrodinger's Cat, because as long as I don't look in the case the hope that it will be an easy fix lives on (as does the fear that it won't.).

Edit, because I don't think I've done anything to warrant a whole new post:
Computer is fixed, though with less memory then before.
And the cute sci fi sim and widget posters are here.  I posted them during vacation, though very quickly because when faced with a scenic lake and a pile of books the internet loses a whole lot of it's appeal.

I'm about to raid that thread for some goodies, myself.   There's no shame in that, right?  Er, right?

I have a confession.   I don't think I've ever successfully played a pre-made family to the point where the adults had grandchildren. 

Until now!

And I cheated because I edited the parents in CAS so they would look less cartoon like.  But it's the sims 3, world of cartoon features, so you forgive me, right?

Though it's ok if you don't forgive me for it being the Malifa family in Barnacle Bay.   I know!  It was gifted to me (thank you!).   And now that I've played it I think it is, possibly, worth money.   Twenty dollars? No, less than half that.   But, despite the hype about the attractive (whyyyy do they have such big eyeballs??  why??) sims in Bridgeport, Barnacle Bay has some of the cutest.   Ignore Nina and Dina, who are not cute, and focus on the positive - the Annan family.  Who I did not play.

And I certainly don't come out of the Barnacle Bay experience thinking, "Hmmm...by golly! I can't wait to spend money on the next one!"  (Plus, green people who are not aliens or zombies?  Way to ruin the next "surprising" twist in my legacy, you nutters.) 

And now that I've filled you with compelling and contradictory emotions, we meander to the point.

Anyway, I started up my first ever Barnacle Bay game to test out Generations, and I got attached.   I think the youngest child is by far the prettiest, and different from most other sims I've seen.  So I am sharing her genetics with you!  Take that, whatever the sim equivalent of Monsanto is!

She's currently a teen in my game, but this is the YA file.  I've done my best to make sure all outfits are appropriate for YA, to avoid glitchiness.  Rather then make a large CC list, I took off most makeup, and stuck her in base game and Generations hair and clothes.   Default skin in pictures is by Ephemera.

I'm trying to strike a balance between lighthearted and doom and gloom foreshadowing for the Miliners, so expect delays while I waffle. :D  (So...what do you think Ocelot is searching for?  And what could possibly be a worse thing to find in your garden then squirrels?)  Am I rambling?  I've been up since 3:45.





Also, I'll be putting in 10-12 hour days for work (luckily, a lot of it reading at home).

So, to continue a fine tradition of distracting myself I learned how to make tattoos and made a sim for GoS.

From what I understand you can just plop the .sim file in with your saved sims, and the sim will be waiting for you in create a sim under young adults.   So far the only time I've had trouble with .sim files is when I don't have the correct skin, otherwise missing CC is either replaced with horrible clothes, purple eyeshadow, or just left off (like piercings).

I've had Lynx on the Exchange for a while now, and even though I can't say he's been a wildly successful download, probably due to my complete lack of street cred/any sort of credibility whatsoever, I do feel I need to mention that the Sims 3 Upload Image Changer has made a HUGE impact on download numbers.   It's really a little bit astounding.
