I think one of the best benefits of having a legacy sim marry a townie is seeing the name pop up in other people's stories.
Well, no wonder Bobsie married a ghostly Nick Knack, he was possibly better off having lost his worldly possessions. Or at least she was better off being able to hang up her own paintings, as she painted rather a lot. The whole Miliner house is full of them.
